A closer look at the meeting

This entire scene is built against a four foot wide mirror.
The figures and cars in the foreground are facing themselves in the mirror. 
Figures are painted different colors front and back (mostly grays, black and white).
The 'mirror trick' is used by model railroaders to give a scene the illusion of greater depth and size.

Water filled barrels are loaded at the spring water pumping station.

Barrels on pallets are also loaded in the boxcar.
